Color and highlights in Oxnard, California

Highlights and color, in Spanish

Salón Destello is a color salon on North Oxnard Boulevard. We start with a consultation, build the plan around your hair and your history, and tell you how long each step takes. There is room for first-time clients.

A highlights day

What a highlights day looks like

Six steps from the chair to the mirror. Timings vary with your hair and your plan.

  1. 15 min

    Step 1: Arrival and consultation

Your colorist goes over the plan, looks at your hair in daylight and sections it.

  2. 15 min

    Step 2: Mix

The formula is weighed and mixed by hand, so every bowl is measured.

  3. 60–90 min

    Step 3: Application

Color goes on section by section, from the roots through the lengths, following the plan.

  4. 30–45 min

    Step 4: Processing time

The color develops while we check it at intervals, not only by the clock.

  5. 30 min

    Step 5: Rinse and toner

After rinsing, a toner sets the final tone and evens it out.

  6. 30–45 min

    Step 6: Blow-dry and finish

A blow-dry, a look at the color in daylight and a plan for the next visit.

Before you book

Your color history

The more we know about what has been on your hair, the better the plan.

Jot down what you remember: box color, salon color, henna, lightener or a straightening treatment, and roughly when. Bring photos of color you love and color you don't, or send them on WhatsApp, and we will take it from there.

What helps to remember

  • Color from a box or another salon

  • Henna, lightener or a straightening treatment

  • Photos of color you like and don't

Questions

Before your first color

Do I need a consultation before my first color?

Yes. Every color service begins with one, so that your colorist sees your hair and your history before mixing anything.

How long will my appointment take?

Highlights or a balayage take three to four hours or more, and a root color about two. Each service on the menu lists its duration.

Can I book on WhatsApp?

Yes. Message us at (805) 555-0102 with your name, the service and the days that suit you, and we confirm the same way. You can also book online.

What if my color is from a box or another salon?

Tell us everything you remember. Your color history decides the plan and the steps, and some plans take more than one visit.

Can I see my price before I book?

Your price comes from your hair, your plan and the time it takes, so we give it after your consultation. You agree to it before anything is mixed.
